Ozone or carbon?
I have a 260g FO with a wet/dry, ER RC500 & that's it
I plan on hooking up my ocean clear canister filters one of these days....... Anyways, my water is pretty much always a little yellow & I want it clear What is the best way to do this? Some say Ozone & I have one picked out which is a Clearwater Microzone 300 & I forget the ORP controller.... it's $450 OR just use carbon? FWIW I do plan on going with a 530g tank in a year or 2 which is why the ozone unit is bigger then I need |

i say carbon should be present in any system. it cant hurt anything and it can help a lot. carbon is cheap compared to ozone, so get some carbon in it. you may want to consider a UV sterolizer also, i added one to my system about 6 months ago and it looks much better. UV will take the yellow/green tint out of your tank.

Carbon will take care of the yellow tint.

thanks everyone.....
so is it worth spending $450 on a ozone unit with ORP meeter? I had a UV unit years ago & ended up turning it off because I was to lazy to change the bulbs....... I know.... slacker I had some other items to order thus some carbon will be included in the shippment |

On a large tank - if you can afford it - I say go for it.
