60gl cephalopod tank

I know I want to do some type of cephalopod but I'm not certain yet would this tank be better for the dwarf cuttlefish or a bimac octo?

Although neither live for all that long, I believe you'd get a longer lifespan with the Bimac. We kept Pharoah cuttlefish at Ocean Journey- very interesting, but they don't generally live even a year.

yeah i just got my bimac last night about 4" body. And not 3 hrs later he picked a snail out of my hand and ate it. I keep it entertained with a mantis shrimp. The bimac keeps trying to either hover/ swim over the mantis(the mantis only about 2 inches long) but its too fast. its amazing to watch.

I'm no stomatopodiatrist, but I think a 2" Mantis is more than a match for a 4" bimac. I wouldn't keep them together myself.

Guess the bimac had a few too many arms and one too many beaks for the mantis!! LOL
Mantis' are some intelligent creatures- but so are Octos for sure. I've seen them on some nature show(forget which one it was) where they put food in a jar- and the octo figured out how to open the jar. There was one show where an octo crawled out of it's tank and across a room into another tank to eat some crabs that were there....It then crawled back home before morning! Outsmarted the scientists for a while until they put a video camera in the room over night and discovered what was happening! LOL

Thats amazing! Ive definitely heard stories of them figuring out how to get prey out of enclosures (jars, plastic eggs, empty soda bottle, etc) but i never heard of one stepping out of its tank for a meal and comming back! They are extremely inquisitive creatures... and learn pretty quickly. Doesnt suprise me at all that the bimac got the best of that mantis.... octo is a very efficient predator.
