banggai's solo or multiples?

I have started over with my 75gallon tank and want to go peaceful and colorful. I currently have a carpenter flasher wrasse and a orchid dottyback. I would love to get a banggai cardinal. My question is would I be better off with just one cardinal or do you think 2 or 3 together would be ok? I also worry that if they mate and reproduce will I have to routinely watch the offspring being killed or dying, since i dont have room for a breeder tank? If I do go with one do they do well solo? All experiences with this beautiful fish are appreciated!

Multiples as they are schooling fish, and make sure they're captive bred as they are endangered, and despite attempts by the right people wild-caught ones are still available but they do seem to be phasing out.

They are the "easiest" saltwater fish to breed, or at least have that reputation. They are mouth-brooders so it wouldn't be too much work.

Since your tank is rather small, you'll only be able to keep either 2 or 1, but not multiples. The poster above mention multiples, but this only works when the banggais are juveniles and not sexually mature. Once sexual maturity hits a dominant male will kill or harass the odd fish out.
So choose wisely.

BTW feel free to read up on banggai husbandry here

Lastly, as you read above they have been put on the endangered species list, however many many wild caught specimens are still be brought in, so if you can get captive bred banggais- please do so- even if they cost more
