Store that sells 10 for $150 shipped frags?

Hi gang,

Was going thru my bookmarks and I was searching for this online store, but apparently I don't have it saved.

It was a website that sold really neat frags, and their deal was 10 for $150, and I believe that included shipping. And IIRC, it was 20 frags for $250 or something like that. And they even let you specificy which frags you wanted. You added all of the seperate frags to your basket, and then when you had 10, just completed the order and put something in the comments section about how you want the special deal.

Does anyone know what store I'm talking about?

Thanks!
Aaron

Did anyone else google reefermadness.com and get a drug rehab site? I could've used that ten years ago.

10 frags for $150 is expensive? How does $15/frag = expensive, especially when they are very nice SPS frags.

I think it's reefermadness.us. Yes, it's .us not .com. I was just going to ask if anyone has done the 10 frags for $150 deal, then I saw this thread. Has anyone done it and been happy? I don't know what your LFS are like around Fairfax, rtcpenguin, but $150 for 10 frags is really cheap for Minneapolis.

I can't believe $15 a frag is expensive to so many people. I wish I could get your prices, sheesh.

The only deals they have are 5 for $160 your pick, or 20 for $200 their pick!

I have & was very happy. I did an order split with some fellow club members & everyone was pleased.

I've read few if any bad words about ReeferMadness - A#1 in most folks books.

$15.........SHIPPED........is expensive????????????????????

So name a place that's cheaper within 5hrs of Fairfax Va? (even club purchases tend to run about that)

yep, I noticed that as well, thats one reason I said they were pricey and if you look at their frags 40 and 50 bucks for 2" geese I could get a entire coloney for that turn it into frags and get my money back out of it and still have a nice frag for myself.

The frags they have are premium. And all there prices stated on the website include shipping. What you see is what you pay. They have the killer sick stuff, with a consistantly updated website. Best in the business for high end SPS IMHO.

IMO, that's expensive for non-captive frags IMO.

Just depends on what you want. I'm unsure of their aquaculture facilities - but understood most of these `frags' are just chunks of larger wild colonies.

Gorgeous corals, their service is legendary - but yet comparing one of those frags with something like an ORA millie ... there's a different in how they're grown, and what one can initially expect IMO.

Not to knock their stuff or reputation - but frags means different things to different people. I tend to prefer tank-aquacultured, but that's me.

Isn't that 10 frags for $150 deal only for aquacultured stuff? How can they say it's aquacultured when it's a frag from a wild colony?

Reef club, frag swaps, another reefer.

By far I've gotten the best deals there.

Except for the top group, which are clearly marked as aquaculture [ocean aquaculture mostly, though I have seen captive there] ... the lower two groups do not specify source other than call them `frags'.

I don't think they are calling them aquaculture, they're just calling them frags. Maybe I'm incorrect, but generally those have always struck me as wild corals - except when labelled otherwise.

Nothing wrong with those corals, but IME wild coral frags vs. aquacultured frags have me buying the aquarium-grown kind [for higher price too] because of my past experiences with both kinds of frags.

This is not a critique of RM at all. Sure seems like everything is up-front. Corals look beautiful, and their reputation is stellar.

somebody, just recently, did this deal. i think it was original reefland (rich durso). it's in his big, long thread about his 180 gal tank towards the last few pages. he posted lots of pics.

he was really pleased i think.

I just got an order from ReeferMadness. They didn't have an item I ordered so by way of apology they sent me 3 free frags with my order. These are nice frags guys. I would let Chris pick for me and take the 20 for 200 deal anyday.

MCary, got any pics? I'm curious to see the pics in your tank, as opposed to the pics on the RM site.
