Chocolate Chip Starfish?
Anyone know of them attacking a clam? I just got a clam and saw the starfish envelope it. The clam closed up and suffered no harm, but now I am concerned.
Any thoughts? |

Hmm, I have a chocolate chip in my aquarium, I have yet to see it eat anything.
My sister decided it was a good idea to randomly buy me it. Yeah, thanks but no thanks, anyone want it? hehe I have read that they start eating things as they mature. Mines still pretty small. General rule of thumb I heard, is if its bumpy its going to eat stuff. |

this starfish, like most Asteroid sea stars are patently NOT reef safe. Do search the RC archives and see some of the fine info/articles such as those by Dr. Ron Shimek on this very topic (sea stars).
