Killer Parsite
Can someone advise me on how to rid my quarantine tank of a nasty parasite? I have lost several fish to a nasty parasite. It began when I didn’t quarantine some new fish and they brought some nasty parasite into my main 160g reef tank. I had no choice but to tear down my RT and treat all of my fish in a separate QT. I lost a 3 year old Chevron Tang, Naso Tang, Yellow Tang, Flame Angel as well as the new fish. I was able to save my two Blue tangs and a Convict Tang and a Coral Beauty. The QT ran 2-3 weeks with no fish in it. The biological filter was established and all water tests were fine. I purchase a Hawk fish and a Powder Brown Tang that were all feeding great at the time of purchase. Within 4 days of being placed in the quarantine tank they developed what appeared to be Marine Velvet. I stated a copper treatment and the fish just didn’t respond. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
