Got Hair Algae?

I have a 5" sea hare, super cute, free to the first person to come and get him. My hair algae is mostly gone, so he needs to go to a new home that can feed him (has lots of hair algae) before he is no more. Please, someone come and get him. I am in Davis.

Go for it. You're much closer than I am. Let me know if you want to pass him on later.

Ha ha! Perhaps we can all pass him around. I have some hair algae lately too. I recently got a phosban reactor to help battle it! Maybe he will be in my tank one day if I dont have it licked by then.

There's a thread on the Chico forum about one with some photos. However the before and after pictures are the only way I can see it.

SeaHares are really great for clearing HA or anytype of algae except for bubble. He even erradicated my caulerpa problem. Mine was 4"... BTW - watch out for Powerhead diving.. they seem to be attracted to those things... Make sure PH's are covered

and for the myth of poison, they only secrete the purple dye for protection, its more of an irritant... but just run carbon if the do secrete it.

They are amazing creatures! But have to resound an echoe behind the very important advice of delsol650. Like moths to a flame!! My Seio 1100 killed 2, before I realized I can not house them with that pump, so the pump had to go! Now I got the lil tunze's which dont suck up as much pressure on a small track of inlets, but rather over the whole pump housing. I also am believing it a myth that one can wipe out your tank. Like I said, I killed two(both resulting in ink clouds as I attemtpted to remove them from the powerhead... unsuccessfully ), and after running some fresh carbon, nothing showed any signs of stress whatsoever.

Amazing to watch them just plow a line through the hair though, like crop circles!!

I think I would be ok Justin. I have two large overflows to the sump.. The only intake is for my closed loop to the reeflo dart. They would be ok though because the intake has a large grate. Cylindrical and slotted all the way around. I wonder if anyone carrys them localy?
