Talking Getting a little CrAzY

So I listened to everyone that told me to take out my Bio balls. (all glass wet dry model 4) I was thinking now that i have an empty chamber now lets make use out of it...so i was thinking what i could do with this empty chamber. I came to a conclusion that i want to grow macro algae in it. i think it is possible i just have to get creative. i know i have to raise the water level in that chamber so that the macro algae would be submerged in the water but also i have to keep in mind that the water has to move quickly enough or it will over flow all over the floor. Then i was going to put a light on the side of the chamber (6700 k)

Has anyone tried this? any input?

A word of warning.....
Before calling it a finished project, make sure that any modifications you make don't effect the sump's ability to hold the water that will drain from your tank in the event of a power failure.

True, also, be ready to clean algae from the glass at least weekly or else the light will quickly stop shining through to the macro. I would prefer to have the light suspended over the top if possible shining just into the water. I might have misunderstood what you were saying though.

I use old Aquaclear filters for the same purpose. The tank lights seem to be enough to keep it growing.
