aplysia hare ID

Calling the experts cause seaslugforum.net couldn't help me.

Here goes, I recently purchased several sea hares. In coloration/markings they look the same as Aplysia brasiliana. My largest ones are 2.5-2.75" long, they are supposed to be from Nicaragua.

My problem/question is that brasiliana hares grow up to 11" long in the wild. I have seen my 2.5" hares laying eggs on my glass.

Can sea hares lay eggs at this size/don't they have to be fully mature? If so, any help on ID, I couldn't find a smaller aplysia on the species list that looks like these.

I will post pics if necessarry, but coloration/markings are exactly the same as brasiliana except missing the light patches on the interior wing flap area.

Thanks!

I'm very surprised that Bill wasn't able to help you. When did you ask? I know Bill was away for a while.
