Bad Hermits in my reef!

Does anybody else have this issue?

When I started my 30 gal I added about 6 hermits with extra shells and triple that in snails. I had some snails and hermits hitchike in.

Little by little I notice my Cerith and Astrea shells with leggs. I have been putting bad hermits that I witness mounting and attacking snails in my fuge and feeding them once a week.

The only hermit that is not a problem is my red scarlet.

What is everybodys opinions on hermits. They are so cool so I wish I didn't have this issue.

Thankd

The only hermits I would trust in my tank are Paguritta and that's because they're filter feeders. IMO there are no other hermits that are truly safe.

Though unusually large, I have to admit these two refugees from another's tank have been model citizens in my tank. And I was always a hermit hater

I LOVE HERMITS
THEY HOLD A VERY IMPORTANT PART IN THE ECO-SYSTEM. MOST OF THE LFS SELL HERBIES ANYWAY, AS FOR THE SHELLS THEY NEED A HOME JUST LIKE YOU... AND DONT FOR GET TO FEED'EM THE BEST U CAN, AND IF YOU SYSTEM IS SO CLEAN THEN YOU DONT NEED THEM RIGHT... I'LL ADOPT ANYONES CRABS.O THAT DIDNT SOUND RIGHT...
