Need some advice on Deltec Calcium Reactor

I recently picked up a used PF501 from a friend and got it up and running yesterday. Today I went to turn the pump on again and I cannot get it to start again. I opened it up and found the top of the cavity that holds the magnet has been wore out. Add this to the fact that the aquabee pump was the loudest thing on my setup since yesterday and Im convinced I can achieve the same if not better performance with a different pump. I had in mind the Hydor Seltz pumps, the L35 with 21w @450gph.

I was planning to adapt this to the fittings via 3/4" or 1" spa flex or tubing and fastening it down with hose clamps. Any critics or suggestions are appreciated. The reactor is used so warranty i believe is out of the question and buying another 300$ aquabee is the last thing I will do. Thanks.

you might also consider relpacing it with a Eheim 1250. What size was the aquabee?

It was the Aquabee 2000up, 18w @ 2000 lph. I was thinking eheim's as well but they run more electricity.

I bit the bullet and bought the Hydor Seltz. I will post pics of the build if anyone is intrested. The Hydor Koralia's are making a splash and I read a couple of good reviews on the seltz, might as well give it a try. Thanks for your input.

Hydor Seltz pumps are awesome. I've used them for the past couple years now, never had an issue. I had one of them run dry for hours and it still works great to this day.
