What kind of SH would be good?
My set-up's not ready yet but I'm planning ahead.
I have a 20gH with 3" of LS, some LR from my 60g reef and just a skimmer hooked up. Does that set-up sound ok or do I need something else? When it's ready, I'm going to move some mushrooms from my 60g reef over and maybe a xenia. I have still have my PC lights for when the 20 was a reef tank. Would these be too bright? What kind of SH's would best for my tank. |

Sounds just fine!
I would recommend captive bred from either Ocean Rider, Marine Depot Live or Premium Aquatics. Any of the tropical species would be just fine..... your choices include erectus, kuda, procerus and barbouri. If you can keep your tank between 72 and 75 not to exceeding 77 on a warm summer day then you also have whitei a subtropical species to choose from. They are all hearty if I had to place them on a list I would say that erectus and whitei are the 2 toughest species and a good beginner seahorse. I would also recommend keeping a breeder specific tank......meaning only the horses from one aquaculture facility per tank. Mixing their species is fine as long as they have the same temp requirements. Seahorses have no special lighting needs, except that consistency would be recommended. |

Thanks for the suggestions. If my LFs can't get CB, I'm going to get them from MDL.
