Skimmer for large Shark pond?

What skimmer would you all suggest for a 10'x5'x3' shark pond? I've already looked at the AquaC EV2000 skimmer, but are there any others out there that are effective yet cheap? I would like to keep the price around $800-900.

Thanks

You could have one custom made. Ask around I'm sure someone here can build a beast for you.

That would cost a pretty large sum of money, though wouldn't it?

For 1100 gallons everything is going to be expensive. As for price you wont know till you ask. Good luck and make sure to post pics.

It's only going to be filled up to the 2' mark, roughly 750g.

i would use 3 asm g4 x skimmers . i am running about 650 gallons ( sump ,main tank, auxiliary tank ) with 2 large sharks and a total of 3 large groupers and my water test perfect . i do 160 gallon water change every 2 to 3 weeks also though . i think multiple skimmers are better than one that tries to do the work of 3 . they were kind of expensive though i think i paid around 1200 for all 3

For reef tanks a good way to measure a skimmer is the amount of air it processes. For example a reef tank with 40g would best fit with a skimmer that has a minimum of 40g/h of air in inflow.
For a shark tank I would at least double this amount so you should go for a skimmer that has 1500g/h of air inflow - which is roughly 6000 l/h.

For example a BubbleKing 400 hast 2500 l/h so you need something quite huge or several smaller ones.

only thing i could see is a volcano skimmer, if you want to spend your money very wisely and spend about 1700 i would say go with two of the ReefFlo 200 or my personal favorite skimmer that destroys anything in its class is the ReeFlo Orca 250, 2500 + lph and i bet could easily outskim a bubbleking 400, i would say dont worry about trying to cut corners, just go with something good and get it right the first time, i would say with it being a shark tank spend the 1700 and go for 2 Reeflo Orca 200 skimmers and get about 3200 lph from them and the tank will be clear as day

I think that this is the one area where you dont want to skimp, especiall with such high bio-load animals.. even if it means waiting longer untill you can raise the money for some heavy duty skimmers.
I like mattyice's suggestion..
make sure you post pics

Yeah, the EV2000 would be my first choice. Either that or the Reef Octopus FDNW-400 Skimmer. Which ever one will give me the best performance.

i could email you pics but i cant figure out how to post on this site . i think the pics are too large . the main tank that has the 2 sharks ( spotted bamboos 20 inch and 27 inch )is a 480 gallon 8 x 4 x 2 but then the filtration goes through the wall out to the garage where the second tank is and skimmers , sump set up ....

If you gonna use 2 skimmers you can run one first and add the second one as the bioload increase. That way you can start your project sooner and afford for two very good skimmers.

grouperman - Cool, thanks.

RoWall - That's actually not a bad idea, because I planned to add the sharks/ray last, and I also will not have many "high-bio-load" fish in the pond either, just a few tangs and wrasse.

I would recommend an ETSS downdraft. I have used them on shark setups with great results. Check out www.superskimmer.com They help increase oxygen levels and help support pH.
