Dwyer Meter "Which 1 R U Using?"

I want to get an Idea of which Dwyer meter reefers are using these days to gauge air pull. What for of reading do you prefer? SCFH or LPM?

I have a DWYRMB 0-50 SCFH Dwyer Meter.

I like scfh and have the RMA compact series RMA 7 0-50 and the RMA 22 i think? 20-200scfh. They both read identical when used. The taller one's are pry more acurate but i'm very happy with these guys.

I have been told on another thread that the large dwyer meters may not give me accurate readings.

I use the meters with the 10" scale. I got a few from eBay a year or so aga.

The larger the meter, the less "bounce" you will have and the more accurate the readings.

I was getting criticized for using mine on an Aquab pump and only testing at 5-8 scfh. I tried it on my DAS AB, on a Deltec, and On an 3 AB pumps on an H&S. I was told that because of the Dwyer meters size that I was not getting an accurate air reading. Yet skimmers Like Euro reef always seem to test close to manufactured air pull.

I just want to get another one or two Dwyer meters. Any suggestions? I don't want to mislead anyone when I test my equipment. I want to make sure what I post is as accurate as possible.

A call to a dwyer engineer would be your best bet. They would be more than happy to recomend the right product for your setup.

I use the RMB53D but it seems you have the RMB52. You must be maxing it out connecting it to your Reeflo 200, no? I get 27LPM when i connect it to my Aquabee and I think your reeflo must be well over that. I like the one I have since I can read both LPM and SCFH, only thing is that the threading on the back is more suited for 1/4'' JG, but they do sell the adapter that will use the same hole but for 3/8'' JG. Might be ok though since the restriction it adds is probably minimal.

I wonder why people complain, I can't imagine it being incorrect. Is it because of the larger metal bead that is used for reading in the RMB as oppose to the smaller one in the RMA, maybe it's causing a lower air pull since the bead is heavier (i'm just guessing)?
