thing to support pendant lights over the tank ?
Was wondering if anyone knows of any well constructed metal supports to hand the light pendants over the tank, instead of hanging them from the ceiling ?
Thanks, Chris |

Well I used 1/2 inch iron pipe, and bolted it to the back of the stand with u-hooks. Plenty strong, it holds a Current Outer Orbit fixture no problem.

Can you post a picture of this? I'm in the same boat and am looking for ideas. The ceiling in my wife's suggested position is roughly 15' from the top of where the tank would be.
If anyone has pictures of wall hanging fixtures that might be used, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!

This is an older picture, but you can see the L brackets that I used. Dummy Depot sells them for about $15 each.

Nice idea, and because I'm looking at a 60" fixture, I can center the tank on across three studs and let it hang towards the middle.
Nice aquascaping! Want to come visit? Thanks for posting.

Those brackets are not installed in studs; just drywall anchors. Keep in mind that the heaviest part of those lighting fixtures is the power cords; the fixtures themselves are aluminum and weigh almost nothing.
The scaping was inspired by the cypress trees I saw when I took a drive through Alligator Alley in Florida.
