Reef safe sortof... Tank Inhabitant safe, no...


Most people put Mantis shrimp in a seperate tank.

go on youtube and put in mantis shrimp - might help you make a choice!

Anybody see the episode of Anthony Bourdaine's No Reservations show in Hong Kong?

Showed the chefs reaching into tanks full of 1 foot long mantis shrimps then taking machetes to them and tossing them in a soup pot. I'd be skipping that course.

I'd love to eat a mantis shrimp. After the number of fish my mantis shrimp ate, it would be some kind of poetic justice.

I've heard that Mantis is really good. Surprisingly, many countries in the world harvest and eat them, especially in the Mediterranean where they are referred to as Mantis Prawns.

Eating the tail probably isn't much different than eating lobster.
