Test Kits

What's the best CA / Alk test kit out there? I used to use nothing but Sailfert, but I've heard of some issues recently.

Elos?

I basically gave up after 3 or so bad alk kits in a row (with rumors of major issues now with calc and mag). I use Elos for alk/calc/mag, and LaMotte for alk/calc very fine tuning.

I like the Elos test kit's. They seem to be very accurate and easy to work with.

Is Phishy the best/cheapest place to buy the Elos test kits? I would like to buy at least the Alk, Ca and Mg tests but have a hard enough time paying for Salifert test kits and the Elos seem to cost even more.

Just curious.

I bought the Elos Ca kit at Phishy and was disappointed to find out it did not include the 5mg/l test solution, it comes with a solution for testing to 25mg/l.
It requires the purchase of an Optional High Resolution fluid which Phishy does not carry to test at 5mg/l.

Next time I will buy the Seachem reef Status Ca kit as it includes everything needed for a resolution of 5mg/l and can be found online for less than the Elos kit.

I've used LaMotte alk. & cal. test kits for over 15 years.
They are expensive to start with, but the refills aren't that much.

I am going to order the LaMotte Alk and Calcium from Marine Depot tonight. Both the Alk ($22) and Ca ($30) are marked down 35% right now.

Great timing for this discussion!
