Cool Coral spawning event

We had our first coral spawning event this evening. The thread in the SPS forum can be found here :

Couple of months back we had a peppermint shrimp spawning event... not too uncommon I know... but hey, it was still cool to witness....

Michael..

Hehe... well, since it is glass, and I would need to drill it, then most likely not going to work out for my needs .. Sorry bro, Thanks for the offer though.

crizq0 and Nicholas,

You're going to just have to use your imagination on the taste . I'm not going to "taste test" the stuff, and most of it has dispersed to the point of disappearing... I did see a couple of the "seeds" in the sump caught up in the chaeto and the ones we fished out last night have separated into their individual globes (that made up the overall shperical shape). So aparently the seeds were really clumps of smaller seeds, meant to float to a distant location then separate and seed multiple spots in that location, multiple this times so many locations (so many spheres witnessed last night being released), and it is easy to see how coral reefs can spread

Palolo (coral spawn)is something I will definitely be trying but I think that like on the GBR, it's a springtime delicacy. BTW, gold teardrop maxima abductor muscle-yummy!, Mantle-yicky!
More gastronomic descriptions will follow.-Jim

Hahaha... when my wife ate with chopsticks in front of her puffers, they all went crazy and begged for food. As if they need a reason to beg for food.

Yah, she fed them with chopsticks. Should see the bite marks on those chopsticks too
