how high above the water will you hang the light?

that might be too much light for the shrooms. it's easy to make a small shade for them with gutter-guard or some other non-metallic mesh. even a few layers of egg-crate.

Nice light for the SPS tho!

the tank is 12 inches deep and 29 inches long I think I will put the lights approx 6inches above the tank. I built a shelf 5 inches from the bottom that is 6 inches wide I will keep the sps up high and kind of "hide" the shrooms and zoo's under the shelf. would 6 inches above the tank be sufficient?

I don't know a whole lot about MH, but isn't 6" above the tank the minimum heighth? Anything less than that and I believe you will have tank water temp. problems.

the light its self has a fan and I am going to put a clip on fan to blow across the water. I am going to take some pics of the whole process. Ihave to rebuild the tank. my bull dog got freaked out when my sailfin tang splashed when I was feeding so he ran off and got tangled in my vacume cord and the handle of the vacume tipped and shattered the 20 gal so I have to rebuild. So I will post some pics of it. the light should be here friday, I am driving up to coralfanatics.com to pick up some zoo's. So I should have some nice stuff to start growing.

Not sure how much you know about MH...You will be fine but make sure you shield you MH from water spray. If the UV Jacket cracks from spray you could loose all you livestock. Not to mention potential harm to your eyes.
