Duncan?

I resisted the Duncan craze until yesterday when I got one from Phishy. I know little about their care...flow, light, feeding, etc.. I welcome thoughts from anyone successfully keeping them.

Mid to low light. They can withstand pretty high light, just go slow. They don't require feedings but will grow much more with them. I will feed each polyp a mysis or two every 5-7 days. Flow low to medium is also good.

Mine seem to like the same areas as my hammers and frogspawn. So if you have either of those doing well put them in the same area.

I had mine on the bottom of my 75g tank with 175mh lighting. med flow. They did not grow much until I moved them to the middle of the tank with more flow and are doing great.

i've had a Duncan for about 9 months now and he lives in an 8 gallon nano. he is at the bottom just under 36 watt CF lights. i got him with about 3 polyps and now it has about 9. he loves a little piece of mysis once a day or every other day.....he's a beaut! got him from Todd's display tank at Reef Systems...medium flow...

Be careful at first with the light Norm unless they have been in a high light tank. I cooked mine under T-5's in my sump, Either that or it choked on a big piece of mysis that I gave them. That Pycine mysis has some large ones.

Yes, everything is doing very well. I have never had a problem growing them, I just kill them when I am done.

Here is mine. I purchased is as a single polyp back when we did the group buy. I feed it about twice a week. It sits on a lower level of my frag tank in low flow. I now have 12 big heads and about 5 babies poping up. (the bottom 3/4 heads are closed up on the bottom of the photo)
