aptasia

my boy just cycled his tank and some aptasia showed up he took the piece of live rock and threw it on his porch the rock has been sitting under the sun 4 about 1 week my question is i can always use another piece of live rock in my tank if i put it in my tank could the aptasia show up again i have a 90 gallon fowlr tank .

Yea it possibly could... Some guys on here have had that happen to them. Boil it to destroy all life on the rock before you put it in if you want to be sure about the aip. But do remember it becomes base rock for a few weeks.

Why do people suggest boiling LR. It kills it making dead rock. So essentially you are just throwing away money. There are alot of better ways to rid yourself of this crap. Dont throw money away.......And why would you keep suggesting that, its just dumb..........

you will experience some cycling from adding it. depends on the size of the rock and your filtration, water change frequencies, volume (%) of the water changed, as to how much of a cycle will be detected.
i would put it in a container of salt water with a power head for about two to three weeks before placing it in my tank. that would be my preference.

oh, if by some chance Aps do come back, www.premiumaquatics.com has peppermint shrimp for $9.99 ea.
i got one for my Aps (29) in in one and a half weeks, it had eaten them all and they have never returned.
