Codium Geppiorum

Does this macroalgae consume calcium? If it does, does it consume calcium the same way as stony corals do (both Ca and CO3 in balanced proportion) or it consume calcium alone?

What is the proper lighting and water current for this kind of algae? What are pros and cons of this algae to be used as refugium algae?

Any further information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for any helps.

I dont think so. I do know Halimeda sp. do though. It is a slow grower for me, but if you can get it growing, it would be a good exporter. Most algae likes lots of light, just not real blue light.

It does consume calcium, I am unaware of the exact process, but I would guess it is similar to that of corals.

Its a good refugium algae, and should do well if given good flow and light
