Scribbled rabbitfish

Is there an easy way to tell the difference between S. doliatus and S. virgatus? I will try and get pics later. I was at the LFS and they had a Scribbled and I asked if it was doliatus and he said yes. Then when I was leaving he showed me a picture of S puellus and underneath was a pic of virgatus and he said that was Scribbled. Now I am confused. It looked like doliatus in the tank but I am not sure I would know the difference anyhow.
Thanks.

Thanks. I did check there and it loks to me that the virigatus is more yellow on top and white on the bottom. I hope it is doliatus as they seem to look nicer.
Thanks a lot.

Also, the virgatus has "dots" while the doliatus has vertical "scribble lines".

He seems to have lines but is still in QT and not shwoing his true colors yet. The lines appear to go down the sides like the picture above. I will try to snap a picture soon.

He is still staying in his nighttime camo colors but it appears the lines go all the way down the sides of the fish with a few dots on the belly. Seems to just hang out and does not swim much yet. I beleive most rabbittfish are shy at first so heopefully he will show his colors soon like he had in the LFS.

They are great fish! Mine is full of personality, follows me around the tank when I'm cleaning the glass or just looking in it. It even eats out of my hand. The only thing I've been trying to figure out, maybe it's normal, is why I can't seem to fatten it up. I can still see the bone down the side of him. It eats like a pig, so other than maybe intestinal parasites, I'm hoping it's normal.

Here hes is hiding in the rocks with his camo colors. I could not get any pics of him while he was out. He appears to llok a lot like the pictures above. I think he looks more like doliatus than virgatus the more I see him. Still not sure so if anyone has more info please let me know.
Thanks
Walt
