I've got an Aqualogic that I'm happy with.
You might want to read this thread. It sounds like a freak deal but better to know the story then to be surprised. FWIW - it sounds like the manufacturer did a standup job of making it right. http://archive.reefcentral.com/forum...hreadid=381214

DIY. Buy a temperature controller (or build one), a pump hooked to the controller, some tubing hooked to the pump, and a small fridge/freezer or a dehumidifier (you can usually find a cheap appliance on ebay or a yard sale). Coil the tubing around the dehumidifier coils or drill a two holes in the side of the fridge and coil your tubing in the fridge. I prefer the fridge/freezer myself cause you can keep all your perishables in the freezer part, you gots to multitask!

beerguy Ithat was a cool link....but i respect the way JBJ handle it.. and I would spend my money at any company that respect their customers...
I will buy a JBJ 1/3 because of their customer service |

Sounds like you made up your mind, but IMO the best chiller for the money is This One, also available in larger capacities. Automatic temp control, good price.

No matter how good a chiller might be I think is a safety design mistake to have the water outlets on top of the unit when if leaking will create a short circuit. I would not count on customer service in case of a serious incident that may kill and seems to me this one has the potential.
