Flow

How much flow should I have in a 90 Gallon tank with a sand bottom?

I have a Korala 2 and a Korala 4 and a Mag 7 return pump and a off brand powerhead that does like 200 gallons per hour

do you guys think that is enough?

I've been trying to transition from lower flow corals to high flow and right now I have a modded maxijet 1200, koralia 3, and a sedra 700 for my return pump. I think the modded maxijet might be too much because my sand in some spots is blown away so I have to find a good spot for the pump, or maybe downgrade to a koralia 3; right now I have 50x turnover.

I have a 75G with a Panworld 50PX-X (1100gph) return pump, a K4 and two K2's. Depending on your load, you may want to ensure all areas are getting enough flow. I would say you are ok but could probably stand a little more flow.

I have a 75g with:
Mag 18 (against 14 ft head ~ 550gph) return
1 Tunze 6045
1 Koralia 4
2 MJ1200 with Hydor Flo attachments (rotating deflector).

I had a modded MJ1200 that was replaced by the Koralia 4, although I think the MJ moved twice as much water.

My corals sway in the currents, but I think I could use more flow. I have the base of my live rock very open to allow good water movement.

where the heck does everyone find room for all these powerheads. I have 2 hdyro 4's, 2 maxi 1200's (hacksaw mod) and then my returns on a 180 and i was going to put in 2 modded maxi1200's (sureflow mods) but really couldn't find the room. I mean they would fit but i am sick of looking at the powerheads

Flow depends on what type of corals you want to keep.

My 75 gallon is mostly SPS and I have a little over 4,000 gph and my sand stays put.

I am not really happy with my flow and I am looking for more. The K4s take up more room than I thought so I am going to upgrade my mag 7 to get more flow. I am getting around 30X turn over rate.

the two koralia 4's in my 72 seem to be perfect. i had to work a long time to position the flow to where it wasnt blowing everything over. it kind of created a sort of whirlwind in the tank. it seems everything is moving without being blown everywhere. the fish love it. they ride the current across the tank
