Whats your SCE usage and rates

Its been years since I had a reasonable SCE bill, but that should change now that I have solar. My system is producing about 30 kWh daily and that will increase as the days grow longer. I figure I will now use 800-1000 kWh monthly and want to know what others pay for amounts close to those number. My last month usage was 2016 kWh and it cost me 496. So I want to see what I can look forward to in savings.

So post then and let me see my savings!!!

I got one here from October for 688 KWh and that ran me $113.87.

I would guess you are at 140 - $150 range with that level of usage.

last month ran me about 1500kwh due to a pretty cloudy month and heavier than normal electrical usage. my bill was about $300. this was the highest one yet since my solar installation.

Not sure why my bill jumped up so much this month but 1209 kWh cost us 257.55. Last month we used 1010 kWh at $204.74. 2 months ago it was 934 kWh and only 114.20, but the was at summer rates. It really hurts when you get into the 200% over base line. Almost every light in the house is fluorescent, but I do have 5 tanks running. my 240 and 4 nano cubes. 3 of which are in the garage requiring heating this time of year. Time to insulate them or get ride of one.

This month my SCE bill is 851 kWh cost 156.21. Not sure why it jumped highest in 2007. My average monthly cost about 130.

I have a somewhat SPS reef system, all the equipment just dead corals, my bill in our Townhome in Perris is $80.00. With the AC running in the summer the bill is $200.00. I will check when I get home to see what our consumption and rates are.

WOW FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS I LIVED IN A APARTMENT WHICH ELECTRICIY WAS INCLUDED SO I RAN MY TANK LIGHT FOR 10HRS A DAY. NOW THAT I LIVE IN A HOUSE THAT EVERYTHING RUNS ON ELECTRICITY INCLUDING THE BOILER AND STOVE RUN ON ELECTRYCITY. MY BILL FOR 2 WEEKS WAS $75 DOLLARS ONLY RUNNING MY LIGHTS FOR ABOUT 5 HRS A DAY AND 6 HRS ON WEEKENDS. IS IT TRUE IF YOU RUN THE LIGHTS AT NIGHT THE Kw IS CHEAPER AT NIGHT THAN AT DAY?

NO! Not if your an SCE customer. It's total Kw consumed. The jump comes when you go into the 100% over baseline, and 200% over baseline. My highest bill was two summers ago at $628, now it averages between $200 and $250 with all the changes I made in electrical usage and appliances.

SCE does/did have a "low income" plan. It'll save you a lot of cash until they start asking questions.

I'm not suggesting people lie and deceive, just do to them as they have done unto you.

Wow, you SCE people are getting slammed! That's the power of deregulation for you, I guess. I am with LADWP. My typical usage is 700kWh with a bill of around $85 all told.

Yes, it is true for me and can be true for you as well if you have a time of use meter installed. I pay $0.019 per KWH at night when most of my useage is.

Did SCE rates increased the past month or so? I noticed my rates are getting higher and higher even though I used less electricity than a year ago.

who can teach me how to read a meter. i went back there and there are a lot of little things that look like clock and then this big disc thing that spins around. i looked at my neighbors and there is spinning really fast. mine is soso and the other one is going a tad faster than mine. But notice when some one is showering in y house it goes really fast also.

1184 kWh used over 31 days = $238.03
Ave usage per day = 38.19
I did bump up each of the lights an extra hour this month.

Your meter has a number of dials that indicate kWh usage. The big one is the greatest precision digit, then up through the rest. If there are 5 dials including the big one, they would indicate 12345 with the "5" digit being the big one and the "1" digit being the one on the left.

You can google it... I think SCE or LADWP has it on their page somewhere.

ahhh, did you read my post above

I don't really know the reason, could be because my usage had dropped so much over the past few years. 2 years ago I used 1879 kWh over 33 days, 1 year ago it was 1369 kWh. Maybe their giving me a break because I'me saving energy

BTW, your not in the same city...I'm in Alta Loooooma

Hold on there officer

Tony, I don't think that's it. M daughter lived with us in 2004 and she paid the power bill (that's my story and I'm stickin too it) we we're able to get the low income rates for one year. After that year they asked for proof of income from all the people living in the house. As far as I know the free ride was over a month later.

I've only been running a Dart Cuda pump a heater and one 250 watt MH on my tank for the past 6 months...nothing else at all so that's the main reason my bill has dropped, plus no AC, I've been burning wood for heat.

I've been saying for 1 year I'm going to empty the tank and start fresh....it started today. I have all the equipment soaking in a 30 ga tub if acid water. I'll have all the rock out tomorrow and sanitize the system over the next few days. I hope to restart everything in a month or two. All I need is 100 pounds of dry Hi rock, 300 pounds of Oolitc sand and I'm set.

How's the solar thing working out? Thanks for the info. I'm still working on the wife, its going to be either that or a pool....what do ya think the kids will want
