Want to buy a controller need advice

I am going to buy a controller for my setup. I would like any input on good or bad controllers or which brand is better.. I have been looking at the following brands.

ReefKeeper

Aquacontroller

Octopus

Is there something else I should be looking into ?

Depending on how many things that you want to control you might want to checkout the Lighthouse controller. Here is a link:

http://aquariumcontrollers.com/

That site has a chart that you can download to compare prices and features of most if not all available aquarium controllers. It was also made by a RC forum member here, not a commercial entity, so you don't have to worry about it being particularly biased towards any controller.

The controller for you depends on the features that you want and your budget. The RK2 or Aquacontroller Jr. will run you $300, the Aquacontroller III, octopus, or any other higher end controller will run you in the range of $600 all said and done.

For my money, I went with the Aquatronica, as it has the most expandability and easiest programming that I've seen in a controller yet. Also has good software, and even an SMS module available, so you can have your tank send your cell phone a text message if something ever goes wrong while you're away. You can also use it for dosing, doing it's own water changes, and a boatload of other stuff.

Cheers

Profilux – Probe for pH, Temp, Salinity & Conductivity and Redox “ORP”. Also has level, dimm T5, tunze controlle, co2 and cal controller, 8 outlet power bar and doser pumps. I know ther are a few more thing I might be missing.
