I haven't used them before, but I've only heard good things.
If you don't mind me asking, why are you looking for an alternative? I love my Mexican Turbos. No other snails are nearly as effective. They wiped out my diatoms and hair algae. Although they do tend to knock over unattached coral. |

Yes they are very effective but short lived because they are from temperate waters. I dont want to be part of the problem of collecting animals that cant live long term in our tanks
