I haven't used them before, but I've only heard good things.

If you don't mind me asking, why are you looking for an alternative? I love my Mexican Turbos. No other snails are nearly as effective. They wiped out my diatoms and hair algae. Although they do tend to knock over unattached coral.

Yes they are very effective but short lived because they are from temperate waters. I dont want to be part of the problem of collecting animals that cant live long term in our tanks
