You will know when it is dying as it will start to fall apart. When I lost one it had white chucks falling off and then the entire tank was cloudy.

Is it attached to something? What are you feeding it?

If your clown is too rough with it, you should separate the two until the anemone can handle all the attention. What kind of light do you have it under?

The lighting

and the water params. <- Yep its time to break out a test kit.

Also I am in golden, if you need some help let me know.

Great thing about clowns is they are easy to catch. Remove it from the anemone untill it is able to handle the clown.

Also I would feed silversides and mysis. Krill is probably fine but I would get the others to see how it takes to them.

What are your lights?

I have 5 RTBA's in my tank and the clowns only hang around one RBTA. It is like the others don't even exist. Zooid's idea to keep the two seperated might work.

Another quick way to keep them separated would be to make a 5 sided box out of eggcrate and put it over the anemone. I wouldn't do this unless I had the anemone under metal halides though, it might cut out too much light from PC's or VHO's.
