Does This Work?

Chalk Bass
Neon Goby
Flasher Wrasse
Striped Blenny
and possibly a
Cherub Angel

All in a 29. What do ya think? You know, everyone needs some confrimation here and there, I just need to make sure I'm not doing anything stupid

I'd pare it down a bit. Cherub angels are anything but cherubs. Nasty little fish particularly in small quarters. The wrasse, goby and blenny would work, IMO. Can't comment on the chalk bass.

Hmm..never heard that before, I had a Cherub Angel and wanted another one because it was so awesome!!! Maybe it was a different situation?

Anyone else had problems with Cherubs? I figured around 3 fish for a 29...and the Neon Goby and Chalk Bass don't really make much an impact on the bioload...

Are the Striped Blennies venemous? Is that dangerous or will it cause problems? Should I get a different non-venemous blenny?

I've had one for 3+ years - a model citizen, to a point. They won't back down from any fish but they don't really like to start fights either. As long as the other members of the tank understand that the angel will go wherever it wants in the tank all is fine - try to keep the angel away from a section of the tank & trouble will ensue.

As with all fish - YMMV

My cherub was okay for several months but then actually became more of a tyrant, routinely sparring with my six line wrasse and fiji blue devil. This was in my 120 so space was not an issue. As stated, it comes down to the inividual fish.

Well the Flasher is not territorial at all and very passive- just like the angel. They would be the two biggest fish so that's why I'm concerned about them so much- I think they'd work well together. The Neon Goby and Chalk Bass are both small and peaceful- they will stick to their nooks and crannies and be fine. It's mainly the Blenny I'm worried about because I can't find much info on them. I really want one though, to add to the variety of shapes and colors to my tank. I think my list is the perfect mix of bottom, midle and top level fish, as well as different shapes and kinds (perching, lateral, active, hiding...). Each of the fish in my list bring something different to the tank, and I'm excited to get it all running smoothly.

I dunno I'm a big "stock list" kinda guy. I love formulating new possibilities with all kinds of activity and color and seeing if they'd work out. I like some more common fish with a rare flare, and one stunning centerpiece fish. Then, I like coming here to make sure everything will be alright when I stick 'em all in a tank together!

I let you know how this one goes...if that's an A-O-K from everyone???

What is YMMV?

Is there another fish that's around the same size of the Cherub that would be a better option? Preferably purple and oval shaped?...but not limited to those descriptions...

YMMV = Your Milage May Vary (no two fish are the same, one may be a model citizen & the other a demon).

I think your selection sounds good. Just be careful with a Cherub angel in a 29g, some are model citizens while others are absolute, well, little devils. BUT if you get a good one it would probably do okay if you added it last, although I have read that the minimum tank size for the argi 'complex' is 40 gallons. Good Luck!

Adding it last sounds like the best option....unless anyone can recommend a better alternative???

Thanks for the help
