new mod for the aqua-clear

well this could be used for any power filter.

i did not make instructions on how to do this, i felt it was simple enough to look at what i did and to see how i did it. i attached the acrylic to the aqua clear using a plastic welding liquid (forgot the name).

i should also note that i have 4 power filters on the tank. one on each end and two on the back. the largest is modded and i do see my montiporas getting blasted by flow each time the flipper is pointed down. i show my xenia moving in the flow because video quality doesn't show the monti polyps moving well. you may notice the xenia getting hit by a "surge" of flow once or twice in the video.

click on the image to view the video on metacafe.

Thats really cool. What motor are you using? I really like how it takes a basic piece of equipment and steps it up, to a wavemaker/random flow. good job.

3 rpm motor

this isnt the exact one i bought, but this is the site i bought mine from. this motor is very close to what i used and it will work the same. they charge a handling fee as well as shipping so if you want to buy i recommend buying a few motors at once. for 3 motors, i think i paid 22$.

here is a link to the one i bought, but its out of stock.
3rpm 120v gear motor
