Once again, Nice shots Mark! Although you made us wait 2 weeks LOL!

These were taken 1 hour apart from starting the treatment?

I'm still bug free after 3+ weeks. How about you?

Sorry I did not post any information about the picture, the shot on the left was before the first treatment 2 weeks ago, the one on the right is how it looks today after two treatments.

I am doing a 3rd treatment this coming weekend. So far I have not found any red bugs.

I lost two acro crabs and 1 peppermint shrimp I had no idea I still had.

I think it would be a good idea for someone with a scale to start selling doses of this stuff. Of course at the buyers preferance for amount of water in circulation.

The reason its prescription is because the dog needs to be tested for heartworm prior to taking the medication. Unless its a young dog. If a dog already has a problem with heartworm it will probably die when given the medication.

I just ordered some from www.hoofandhound.com with no problems. I'm not 100% sure I want to treat, but its the first step. I will miss all of my acro crabs, emerald crabs, hermits, and Peppermint Shrimp. I do have some nasty crabs that I can't catch and hope they will perish during the treatment. Will I lose all of my pods?

You wont loose all of your amphipods. Enough will survive to repopulate your tank. You might loose all of your mysis shrimp though. All things considered, its worth it. You can always reintroduce the good stuff.

AlgaeMan, I treated my tank 3 times, I never lost a snail. I don't know about the starfish or Urchins. Maybe Dustin can help.

I did not loose any snails, and My urchin is hanging tough. He has been around since I bought my first peice of LR 4 years ago. I have done all 3 treatments with great results.

Algaeman,

I've treated all my tanks and have not lost any urchine, starfish, snails, or any of the more delicate corals (i.e. neptheas). Crabs and pods were pretty much goners, but the pod population has returned. Some may have survived.

Thanks all or the replies. That makes me feel much better because I really like my urchins and starfish. Looks like I will definately be treating soon. I have about 250g of actual water. Is there an easy way to cut the amount I would need to treat instead of having to weigh it?

My tank is 224g with another 50g underneath the tank and I took 3/4 of a pill and mixed it without any issues. On the urchin, it's a blue tuxedo urchin, and I forgot he was in the tank. Also, most of the scarlet hermits made it too.

Then it would probably take a whole pill for my system?

My tank is a 225 with 75 gal refug and 2 sumps. Total vol around 350 gals. I used 3/4 of a pill. I think 1 tablet treats up to 380 gals.

I just read in the instructions one pill treats 380g of actual water. So I guess I will use 3/4th too.

I'm not conveying this is the best method, but I didn't have any problems. I just didn't have access to find a scale or have time to go buy one.

good luck.

Hey guys/gals....I know it's anoying to ask but long threads really &%$# me up. Would one of you please post the recommended treatment regime in point form that seems to have worked the best? I'm really more interested in a cure than a conversation if you know what I mean.

Thanks.

Lee
