Question Rhodactis split?

So for the last few weeks now some of my very large rhodactis mushrooms have flattened out and their mouths seem to look like a bunch of white worms. One even appears to have melted or split at the mouth.I recently changed lights but this was actually happening even before that. The mushrooms started spewing large amounts of red goo into the water before this happened.
My guess in chemical warfare, but has anybody had this happen?
And what may cause it?Water parameters are fine and there's plenty of other mushrooms in the tank as well as rics that are fine.Just the big rhodactis that seem to be effected.

Awesome pictures...
I don't think some of mine are going to make it in the location they're in.
I guess that's what happens when some of the corals are hitchhickers. And where they get located in the new LR arrangement.
