Hey Jaggy how are you like the Ultralith system? I've been running it for 5 months and have really seen a difference. Which products are you using?

Takes a lot of nads to pop an elegance into a new tank like that. I hope it does well!

I was looking at your pics and it doesn't look like you used a lot of fiberglass cloth/mat when you constructed your tank. Did you use the cloth/mat on any areas other than where the sheets of plywood met together?

Also, did you only use fiberglass resin to coat the rest of the plywood?

Did you seal the interior of the tank with anything else?

Thanks-Mike

I checked his profile - he hasn't posted on RC since 9/2.

I googled this though - it has an FTS from 10/18.

Natural sea water?? What is the temperature roughly of the water that you get from the ocean. Do you still take water in the winter? Do you heat is first before putting it in your tank?

Read a page or so back and he explains its cold there most of the time, so he takes the water inside for a day to warm up before introducing it.

Tank looks awsome!!! Do you have a pic of the full tank standing a few feet away?

Just noticed: 3rd pic down - is that aptasia in the middle? If so, I get rid of it quickly.

hi yes your right its and aspitia there are quite a few just now , i am going to make up a kalk paste now and see how it goes , i could alwats use the elegance coral to kill em stone dead but i dont want to disturb my elegance ! lol

i will get some better pics soon hopefully

hi thank for taking the time to read this , it has been a hectic time here last few weeks , and i have not been able to update the thread as much as possible and the pics i have posted arnt great ! i will get some better , but due to puppy pen in front of 1/4 of tank it makes things difficult , due to major problems with skimmmer etc and lack of water changes , i have lost a few sps corals , and some arnt looking good , i hope with more water changes this will turn round , water params. are fine , but i think that minor trace elements might play a bigger part in sps corals? , i have no problem with salt creep at all thanks for reading and the questions

wow, that foam looks really good once encrusted. I was a little put aside by it's appearance at first, but it looks just like live rock now imo.

I have lost a few acros and sps , i have put this down to lack of water changes these last few months and depletion of some trace elements , TBH i dont really like the fauna marin system , as it stripped to much out of my water , the acros reacted very bad to this and i got RTN they never really recoved , so i am now using the BLUE coral method of feeding the corals , as well as the ultralith stones to help keep the nitrates and ammonia down ,

Many thanks for you guys taking the time to read about my tank and the kind comments you have left me i would give the foam 5 months and it will be completly indistinguasable from the live rock
