Weird "Proud Papa" Rose BTA Story
I’ve had a Rose BTA for about a year. Eats well and was getting pretty large up until about 10 days ago when I see shriveled up rose and green colored tentacles on the sand and the anemone looking very small. My power head inlets are covered with a short length of PVC pipe with many small 1/8 inch diameter holes drilled in it, but I figured somehow it must have squeezed through one of the holes and been chewed up. Anyway he (she?) isn’t looking too good and went from about 6 inches around to about 1 inch around.
Sunday I’m cleaning out my sump and guess what I find…a little Rose BTA. I can't figure out where the tentacles came from. Could the anemone split into thirds?? Anyway the little guy somehow made it through the slots of the corner overflow, down the Durso standpipe and into the sump. I now have what appear to be 2 happy (small and smaller) Rose BTA’s in the tank. |

One of my Mobert roses just divided into 3 parts a couple of weeks ago... 2 days later, my green BTA decided to split also.

My rBTA split into three the first time it split. I swapped Patrick one of the three for a Sebae anemone then one of the other two rBTAs just split so I am back to three. And they are getting HUGE!
