my 80 gal inwall project

hello guys, well i finally wanted to upgrade, and here it is, an 80 gal inwall, let me show you some progress on it.

well heres the place where im putting it

heres my sump/refug/water changing/equipment holder/frag keeper/filter tank

heres my tank already installed, water and sand already added

heres some of the plumbing from DT to SUMP, its not all done but would appreciate any suggestions

notice that i installed a valve going into a drain for easier water changes and a float valve to keep topping of the tank

and finally this is my tank wich i want to transfer, i want to transfer the sand too, what do you guys think????

well i think i'll do the transfer this weekend, wish me luck.

Looks great. How high is the tank off the floor? Looks high, but might just be the camera angle. The bow front looks great. Hope the transfer goes well for you.

Take care,

I agree - the tank does look high. That is one thing I'm going to try to do with my next tank. It may be a bit more difficult to work inside of the tank, but viewing the display eye-level will be so much nicer than looking down at it. Are you planning a refugium?

So far, your setup looks great!

I figured it'd be in one of the compartments in your sump. Your setup looks well-planned. I especially like the convenient drain - I must look like a tool in the front yard, pouring my wastewater down the street.

Your 46gal looks great. I would not transfer the old sand. I would start with new.

When I moved houses I had to put my sand in a rubermaid container, since i didnt want to move it with the tank. When I put the sand back it took about 24hrs to get back to clear water. I know It might have steered some stuff around, but it was ok, Nobody was hurt.

Instead of purchasing all new sand, why don't you save a cup from your current sandbed, thoroughly clean the rest using ro/di water, and reuse it?

hello again, here is an update on my install, i installed the skimmer and denitrifier

and heres the finished tank

i transfered all the sand and half the water from old tank, looks like everything is still alive and hopefully they will like their new home, and now is the waiting game again, wait for tank to stabilize, wait for coralline algae to grow, go thru hair algae, green algae, cyano, all i can say is bring it on, lol

Hopefully tomorrow i will conect a fan for heat issues and a phosban reactor and a carbon reactor, i will post photos later, thanks for looking
