Post Pictures of your 120g and 125g Tanks

I am going to be upgrading my tank, and I am stuck between a 120g(48x24x24) or a 125g(72x18x22). Which one would you buy? Also, please post pictures if your tanks.

Thanks!

It all depends how you want to stock your tank. If your more into fish the 125 is the way to go... If you want more of a good reef tank the 120 is the way to go... If i were you i would just bite the bullet and get the 180 best of both worlds.

If you have the space, yes but I ended up downsizing my plan from a 180 to a 125 because of the distance from the wall. In other words 24 inches frm the wall intrudes into the room quite a bit.

Also I have a Hippo tang who has outgrown his 55 so I wanted a 6ft tank as well.

Because this tank is yet to be set up I also would like to see some 125 pics.

Buy the 6 foot long 125. Trust me. I was upgrading to a 120 and after having it in my house for awhile and seeing a 125 personally. I made the right choice. Lateral swimming room is MUCH more important to fish than depth. That 6 feet really does wonders. You can keep tangs happier in a 125 than a 120.

he said or a 120 which is 24inches wide as well hence why i suggest to go all out for the 180 with gives you the six feet of length and the 125 and 24inches in width as the 120.. Like someone mention if you don't do it now you will just be kicking yourself later for not doing it. If you do go for the 125 it wouldn't be that much more into your budget to go with the 180 IMO.

NaH2Ofreak all I can say is... WOW! You have what I have begun to strive for and, in reality, I know I will never get there. Your tank is stunning. Thank you for sharing the image. This will inspire me even more. How long has this tank been setup? Did you grow those SPS colonies from frags or buy them as established colonies? Please give us some idea how you have achieved this success.

Well i bought a New tank this past week a 48" 24" 25"

And i cant wait to get it up and Running~
I am in the process of designing on the stand in CAD and we are going to cut the stand up next week in our Machine shop. The stand will be Mild Steel frame with a brushed stainless shell thats removable with 2 zuise fastners and off it will come. The Door will be attactched to it also. Also building a Pendant for the tank since i will be running it with a open top no more canopy i can not stand it anymore. I love everyones tanks. Very awesome

Thanks! The tank is lit by 2, 250W, DE, Pheonix 14Ks on Blue Wave, HQI ballasts and 4, VHO, URI brand actinics.

All the larger colonies were grown from frags and have been with me for quite a few years. They've been thru a few tank transfers also.

Dennis
