Cleaning acrylic

How can I clean the outside of my acrylic tank? Water leaves horrible water spots. Can I just use windex ( I won't get it in the water)? I've heard that Windex weakens acrylic, so I'm afraid to use it. Thanks

RODI water shouldn't leave spots. Find a nice clean cotton cloth and put it in an unsealed ziploc after each use (to let it dry but to avoid any dust/dirt from accumulating on it.)

Also, use microfiber clothes. They don't scratch.

i use a cloth with RO/DI water and it works great leaves the tank spotless. i would not use windex, i have heard it causes acrylic to haze over time.

Hey LBCBJ

Occasionally I use Novus spray on a microfiber cloth to wipe down my tank.
It doesn't take much and it keeps my tank looking good for a long time.

Lots of places sell the stuff. But it looks like this:

Do NOT use any chemical cleaners, they will cause "crazing". The wipes that Drs. F&S sell work well for me.

90% of the time I use a soft baby diaper and RO/DI. The other 10% of the time I use Brillianize which was recommended by my acrylic manufacturer. It seems to repel dust for about a week or so
