Outer Orbit light quality?

Does anyone have any experience with the combo Outer Orbit fixtures with MH and T5? Are they good quality? Is it better to get the Maristar, Aquamedic or Geismann fixture?

I had one on my 65 and loved it. May get another for my 180.

I am very please with mine, although I've never owned any of the others that you named. Overall an outstanding fixture.

I have a 48" Outer orbit and love it. Nice fixture for the price and seems to be very reliable. No problems with it at all...

Love my orbit!
Had one on my 90g and got another for my 180g.
MH and T5 combo is awesome, lower temps and can keep anything under them.

I have an outer orbit pro over my 40 breeder, and am pleased with it. The only thing I wasn't crazy about were the stock T-5 lamps, which I replaced with ATI Blue Plus lamps.

SGARRON;
Mine is the 150w version
150w is electronic ballast, which I prefer, and since my tank is mixed w/ sps at top light is plenty.
No prob w/ clams at bottom.

Thanks Dave. I think I'll get the 150 version for the same reason, electronic ballasts. Also may replace the MH bulbs with 13k Aqualine AB's.

I have the 36" 2x250 watt outer orbit on an oceanic 144 half circle and it was the perfect setup for this system. When it is time to change the mh I will go to 20k xm.

I have had my Orbit for about two years and I'm not happy with mine. As it has been one thing after another.

Plato,

Can you post a pic of the 20K XM with the fixture? Just wanted to see if the extral ballests drives the bulb to my taste?

I did not use the XM 20ks for more than a week with my Orbit. They were soooo blue.
