Pygmy Angels and Reefs

Anyone with any first hand experience with the following angels in a reef? As it relates to the flameback angels, I had an African that loved my toadstools. The pygmy fairs better I hear so I thought maybe the Brazilian flameback might as well (smaller of the pygmies and same mouth structure as the Caribbean Pygmy. I would love a multi color or golden angel (saw both at a suppler recently) but their lips look like my African so I’m a little hesitant. Thanks!

Lamark Angel - more open water and visible I believe

Multicolor Angel (Centropyge multicolor)

flameback - brazilian

I have a multicolor, flame, lemon peel, and coral beauty in my mixed reef tank. They have all been in there for at least 7 months. I noticed the flame take a couple of bites at some zoos the first day, but doesn't seem to bother them now.
IME, the best advice is use caution as every fish will behave differently.

I had a lemonpeel in my old 65 for about 8 months. One day he decided he liked to constantly nip at all my softies as clams. After having to tear the tank down to catch him,I'll never risk another dwarf angel.Beautiful fish, but my corals & clams are too precious.HTH.

We have a Coral Beauty in our 175... She never has disturbed anything, other than chasing a damsel or two ... Always liked the Flame Angel though, have heard 2 different stories on these... Wouldn't give my CB up for anything, was a get well gift from a good friend, and one of the first fish we ever put into our tank...

Have a flame for about 1.5 years now, and has never touched the corals, except for an occasional slime. However, caveat emptor, each fish can act different.

Nipping is more of an individual thing than something specific to a species. Personally, I've never had a problem.
