Remove velvet from tank?

OK, so if you leave a tank fishless for 8 weeks, all ich should be killed off.

What about marine velvet? If you leave a tank fishless for 8 weeks, will all velvet parasites also be killed off?

Thanks!

You will probably get rid of velvet by leaving the tank fishless for a couple of months. Drying also kills it, but that would be more for a quarantine tank.
