Hello all -

Not trying to discourage the group buy in any way, but I thought i would pass this along.

http://tinyurl.com/2hvtq

Good company, stands by their products, and a good price. A little more than the group buy would be, but, re my earlier comments - if you are worried about product support, this might be a more conservative route.

Again - i think group buying is a great idea, but, well, see my earlier concerns regarding electronic items like this. Jason at Premium aquatics has provided me great service in the past, and their very popular refractometers just came back in stock (today). Though you will pay a premium ($50 including shipping).

Russ - in light of this, please remove me from the group buy. Thank you for your efforts; I know your task is not the easiest.

I don't mind waiting. Guess my plastic swing arm will have to do for now.

When the Southdown order 'closes' I will start processing payments for this group buy. Too much traffic to try and process both orders at once...

Since the Southdown order is taking so long to close, do you think you could start in on this order now? Some people have been waiting for 7 weeks (3/17 was original post date). It looks like people are starting to bail, which means less $$$ for the club right?

I don't think the club is making any money off this, Russ just had a good line on refractometers for cheap.

If the club did stand to make money I think it would have been done a long time ago...

Oh maybe I'm confused, I remember seeing something that said the Southdown order had a component of the price that was going to the club, I had assumed the refractometer did also. Russ can you clarify?

In light of the way things are going, if everyone is okay with it, I'd like to move forward on this and still try to get a group order done. I will work with Eddie to see what kind of deal I can get, and see if Russ can give me the source for the place he was looking to order from. I'll want to see a show of hands to see how many are still interested. I've already got one for myself, but would still like to get another. Anyone interested if I can still get them for $35 or cheaper?

p.s. no, i'm not looking to make anything for myself or a club off this order. This will be a strictly cost of unit and shipping deal.
