Here's a shot of unidentified hitchhikers that have turned out to be very pretty. They are very small. the largest being the size of your pinky finger nail.



Anyone know what they are named? They do spread but not as rapidly as aptasia.

non-photosynthetic 'mushroom' coral/anemone just by looking at the image. Yours are much prettier than the one I have had rolling around in mine for some time. Mine has the same form as yours but the nemocyst tips are orange and it has less color in the disk. Might want to post the image and question to Dr. Ron for verification though.

They are a neat hitchhiker.

This weekend Gilman came by & took some macros of my tank. He did such an awesome job, it's hard to believe that these are in my tank. I built a camera box for him so he could take some underwater shots. These photos were taken using the box.

nikon 2100 -2exp .. used photoshop to brighten the monti ..
i had some chomatic aber something and i had to lower my exposure to get rid of it .. but for my first macros they came out quite snazzy
