Lymphocitis ?

Mystery wrass at local LFS just came in yesterday and is already eating. There are three small areas of what look like lymphocitis on the tip of some of it's fins (two of the 4 Mystery wrass have this). Otherwise the fish look good. Should I try to cut the affected areas before introducing into my tank, or just let it run its course?
Thanks

Do it yourself surgery on fish is a bad idea ... may cause more problems than it solves.

Lympho is usually a cosmetic issue only and often clears up on its own ... its a viral issue akin to warts in a human.

although it should clear up on its own with improved water quality... if just on the edge, you could nip them off, fin will grow back quickly.
