Go with the NW200 recirc. It's definitely better. I have the larger version. They do require some simple modding. There is a thread here somewhere. Do a search early in the morning...Good luck!

I have the rps-2000/ recirculating nw 150 on my 90. I don't like it out of the box, but with some simple mods it is a pretty good skimmer. I paid right at 300 hipped from http://octopusskimmer.com/

I'd buy the octo nw200 for 179bux and get a couple uniseals and recirc it for 10bux, meshmod and make a custom venturi. Save a hundred bux and pull 35-40scfh.

If you're going to stick to between the nw200 and the dnw150...get the 200, and do what luke said Heck, PM me and i'll bring the airmeter and kill-a-watt over and help you recirc and meshmod it ....there aren't too many reefnecks down here in SW ohio

you think a new nw200 recirc'd is beter than getting a used asm g3 recirc'd? i could buy one from a guy in ohio but i heard that they are prone to leak and i want to run it external. i am kinda leaning toward the nw200. jctwerks ill take you up on that offer if i get the nw200. how hard is it to drill these things?

the ASM G3 is a smaller skimmer than the NW200...it would be more like a nw150. THe G3 has a 6.5" body, same as the nw150. the nw200/dnw200 has an 8" body. You will be able to get more air into the NW200 than the G3...more air means bieng able to skim better! But...if the price is right on the G3 (under $100 or so), it might be worth lookin at.

they are the same price before the shipping on the octo. how much air can the nw200 handle? what size neck is it?

The NW200 will handle max 35-40scfh (which is easily accomplished with the OTP3000 pump) IIRC the NW200 has a 4" neck.

Mike, I talk to them all the time, i asure you they DO NOT have the worst service. They have very good service imo and i'm sure they would be happy to help you with whatever your dilemma would be. I would be happy to forward this on to Rob just let me know. PM me if u would like. I'm not affiliated with them by any means, but they are good people to me.

MS is near to me and they are truely some of the nicest people I've ever met! They have bent over backwards to help a lot of people out...I have seen piles of pumps missing parts there where someone had broken a shaft, or lost a rubber bushing, etc and they took the needed part from a brand new pump/skimmer and sent it out to the customer! (this was before parts were readily available) But, really, this is not a place to vent about a company...we are all here to help jck9 pick a skimmer and get the best performance out of it....but thanks for your input anyway PS. I agree with luke
