need help with external return pump

Hello, Im still kinda new at the reef tank thing. I have had my FOWLR (sumpless_ tank for nearly 2 years now, but Im in the process of setting up a 100 gallon Clarity plus RR tank. It ahs dual overflows built in an are supposed to be good for 1000-1200gph on the drains.

Im having a custom, acrylic sump built for me and I want to run an external return pump. Now I dont know much about pumps, so I would like to know my options on brands, costs, where to buy, which is quietest, etc. I want something that will push about 1200gph +/- at 4' head.

Also, how big of a bulkhead should I have drilled for said return pump? Does anyone sell "kits" to plumb in external pumps, or is it pretty self explanatory once I see it?

Im also curious on where is the best place to get a check valve? I think I want to use the "flapper" type above the pump to prevent drain back in case of a power outage.
