Talking new to reefing my 220

hello all this is my latest attempt tp saltwater reefing about 3 yrs ago i had a 46 gal bow front and after about a year every thing was growing and going good but seemed as if everyday was spending too much time and would not stay stable i am hoping this setup is more enjoyable just trying to get it off to a good start, as of right now 200lbs of live rock 3 1200 marinland phs the main drive is just a mag 9 but will be plumbing a mag 18 next weekend in sump with a refuge will any advice or tips will be greatly appreciated.

Looks very good I really like your aquascaping. I wouldn't bother with the mag 18 though you really only want 3 to 5 times turn over running thru your sump the mag 9 should be fine. Keep up the good work.

In a reef you do want lots of turnover and water movement but you don't want it all going thru your sump IMHO I would keep the mag 9 for the return and use the mag18 on a closed loop system.

Melve has a good how-to that doesn't require you to drill your tank.

No you don't have to have the SCWD it just give more random and natural flow as far as outlets go I'm guessing your tank is 6' long so I would put 4 outlets spaced along the back
