Sequence pump outer housing tightening to much?

I just cleaned out a used sequence super dart pump and when I am tightening the bolts and nuts together to bring the outer housing and the inner housing together, there seems to be a gap and if I keep tightening it stretches the plastic. Any ideas of why this is happening or if this is normal.

Thanks

Did you check the O-Ring to see if it did not fall out of it's place?

i have the same thing, it has nothing to do with the o-ring. the housing just isn't built correctly on a couple of the holes is all. the rest should all tighten down fine. the one or two that want to smash down to hit the otherside..........just tighten them till they start to bend and back off just a tiny bit.
