People put em in reefs all the time. They never bothered anything like that in my tank but they ate every little type of feather duster worm in my tank. If they decide to eat your reef then there is no telling what kind of damage they can dish out. Not easy fish in the least bit.

They are generally reefsafe, I have had mine in my reef for over 1 year now and it has not bothered any corals. It did how ever take care of all my feather dusters.

A long nose butterfly is also generally reefsafe and are easier to keep.

Feather dusters as well as many types of other worms will most likely be eaten. That's why I don't keep em anymore. They cut down on what little diversity I had to begin with.

I've had mine for a year and 2 months and she's behaved pretty well. She never used to touch any of the corals until about a month ago.
Now she nips on zoos occasionally.
I had at least 700 feather dusters in my tank until I got the CBB.
It took her a few days to finish them
I got her when she was really small, about an inch long.

Most put them in there tank for aptasia control and they do an awesome job. But once all the aptasia is gone hard to switch them to regular food you feed, so some will waste away once all the dusters and aptasia is gone.

seems weird to me that one would be hard to get to eat. I've had mine for about a month, no aptasia or feather dusters but he goes crazy for scallops, shrimp and mysis. I feed once or twice a day and it has never touched my corals.

I'm pretty sure he's picked away the antennae from all my turbo snails though . . . and I haven't seen my peppermint shrimp either.

Not only are they one of the coolest looking SW fish, but reef safe as well. Maybe im being a little naive about them, but mine has never touched any part of the Reef or my Clam. He does however like to pick on the Blue Linckia from time to time but has never caused the star any harm. He also eats mysis and plankton and sometimes a bit of krill if it is small enough.

Great fish all around, to have in a reef tank.

I have had mine for about a year now.He has grown quite a bit,and is a striking and friendly addition, but he has taken to eating my open brains and clams. What a dissappointment. He's free to anyone who can remove him from a 300G tank with lots of rock and corals.
