Question about Lineatus Wrasse

Last Friday, Allen of Eye Candy hooked me up with a 2.5 inches Australia supermale Lineatus wrasse. Since released into the tank he went into hiding and have not come out for food.
I am very worry about him now as I do not wish a beautiful fish die.
We have a 100 gallons tank dimension 60x18x22 and about 120 lbs of liferocks so plenty of room to hide. Tank is a mix reef with 5 inches blue tang, 4 inches red sea sailfin, 3 inches chocolate tang, 2 inches powerblue tang, pair true percular clown, 2 inches longfin wrasse, and a golden blenny.
Would he be ok or do I have to take him out? It will be a pain if I have to take out all the corals and liferock to catch him.

As for tangs we will be upgrade to a 240-280 tank in a year or so.
Thank for your help.

he should be fine. the longfin wrasse may have given him reason to hide, but not for too long...

make sure your tank is covered, they will jump for sure.
also super males only become "super" at 4 inches and above

Definitely agree about keeping your tank covered. It's just a matter of time when fairy wrasses will jump. I've learned my le$$on.

Wrasses will hide and no one can tell you for sure how long. It all depends on how quickly it gets acclimmated to your tank and if you have any harassing fish. Nice fish to have.

Interesting comment... I thought the "super" relates to the coloration rather than size.

well, at 4 inches above thats when they are the leader of the school of harem and where they exhibit their most vibrant colors

I bought a lineatus not too long ago and it started out the same way as yours. It would just hide all the time and would barely come out. After a few days it finally came out to eat a little bit here and there but 2 weeks later it died.
It was such a nice looking lineatus too. Like others are saying, I'd definitely put a net over the top.
Good luck and post some pics when it comes out.

Virtually all wrasses - do NOT bring them home unless they've got some weight on them and nice round bellies. Fairy wrasses are especially fragile when newly imported.

You can expect them to play dead for awhile (though their eyes will be moving around watching everything in the tank) or dive straight into the sand when introduced into your tank. This is just part of their survival strategy, try not to worry too much. Provided you selected a healthy fish, you should start to see them again after a day or two. Most will start eating prettymuch as soon as they're swimming in the open.
